This free online countdown timer lets you set any duration from 1 second up to 99 hours. The circular progress ring provides an intuitive visual of remaining time, turning yellow in the last 20% and green on completion. An audio beep is generated using the Web Audio API when time expires.
No data is stored or sent to any server. This tool is ideal for timing cooking intervals, study sessions, workout rests, presentations, and board game turns.
How to Use the Countdown Timer
Set the Time
Enter hours, minutes and seconds in the input fields, or tap a quick-preset button (1 min, 5 min, etc.).
Start the Timer
Click "Start". The progress ring will shrink as time counts down. The display shows remaining time.
Alert on Completion
When the timer reaches zero the ring turns green, a banner flashes, and an audio beep plays.
Reset
Click "Reset" at any time to stop the timer and restore the original duration.
Frequently Asked Questions
The timer continues counting in the background and will sound when you return to the tab. Due to browser throttling, the notification may be slightly delayed on some browsers when the tab is in the background. For time-critical use, keep the tab active.
