About the Audio Cutter
The Audio Cutter uses the Web Audio API to decode your audio file, display a visual waveform, then slice the audio buffer at your selected start and end times. The trimmed segment is re-encoded as a lossless WAV file using a pure JavaScript PCM encoder — no quality loss, no server.
Supports all formats your browser can decode: MP3, WAV, OGG Vorbis, AAC, FLAC, WebM Opus. Output is always WAV (16-bit PCM, same sample rate as source).

Frequently Asked Questions
Any format your browser can decode via the Web Audio API: MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, FLAC, WebM/Opus. Chrome and Edge have the widest support. Output is always WAV.
Yes. The audio is decoded to raw PCM (lossless) and the trim is applied at the sample level. Output is 16-bit PCM WAV — the most compatible lossless audio format for browsers.
Sample-accurate. You can trim to the nearest 0.1 second via the input fields. The waveform drag is visual precision (~0.1% of duration per pixel depending on screen width).
The tool is limited by your browser's memory. Files up to 500 MB work on desktop. Very long files (hours) may take several seconds to decode the waveform.
