About the Video Cutter
This tool trims video clips entirely within your browser. When you click "Cut & Download", the video plays from the start time to end time and the MediaRecorder API captures the output as a new WebM file. No server processing — your video stays on your device.
Best formats: MP4 and WebM work best across all modern browsers. MOV files are supported in Chrome/Edge. Output is always WebM format (natively supported by all modern browsers).

Frequently Asked Questions
The MediaRecorder API (used for browser-side video processing) natively outputs WebM with VP8/VP9 video codec. WebM is supported by all modern browsers. To convert to MP4, you can use the Video Compressor tool after cutting.
The trim plays the video from the start time and records until the end time via MediaRecorder. Accuracy is within 0.1s of your set points. For frame-perfect cuts, the start time snaps to the nearest keyframe.
No hard limit — it depends on your browser's memory. Videos up to 2 GB and 2 hours long work well on desktop. Very large files may be slow on mobile devices. The processing time equals the clip duration (real-time capture).
Chrome on Android works well. iOS Safari has limited MediaRecorder support. For best mobile results, use Chrome on Android or save the video and edit on desktop.
